Her paternal grandparents were Ragnvald I Eysteinssøn "the Wise" Jarl of Maer and Ragnhild (Hildr) Hrolfsdottir; her maternal grandfather was Bérenger de Senlis de Bayeux and her maternal grandmother is Nn of Brittany. She had two brothers and three sisters, named William I "Longsword", Robert, Gerloc, Adele and Kathlin. She is the third oldest of the six children.-
