His paternal grandfather was Simon de Montague , 1st Baron Montagu and his paternal grandmother is Hawise de St. Amand; his maternal grandfather was Peter de Montfort , Sir and his maternal grandmother is Maud de La Mare. He had a brother and a sister, named William I and Alice. He died in 1317.General Notes
