Richard was born in 1327 in Bolton, Yorkshire, England and his baptism took place in (17-1344).1 Richard's father was Henry Scrope Knight and his mother was Margaret De Ros. His maternal grandparents are William de Ros 3 L Ros and Maud de Vaux. He had two brothers named William and Stephen. He was the youngest of the three children.
