George was born on March 9th, 1808 in Rowan Co., Nc. George's father was Peter Rector and his mother was Mary Kinnick. His paternal grandfather was Peter Rector. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Jacob, Mark, Andrew Jackson, Elizabeth, Nancy, Lusinda and Mary Jane. He is the oldest of the eight children.-
