George Clinton Laughlin 
George Clinton was born on August 23rd, 1838 in Morgan County,Indiana.1 George Clinton's father was Melvin A. Laughlin and his mother was Lucretia Jane Galloway. His paternal grandparents were John Abe Laughlin and Margaret Duncan; his maternal grandfather was Jesse Galloway and his maternal grandmother is Sallie Williams. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Harvey Jasper, Francis M., James Osmon, Minerva J., Lucretia Matilda and Sarah E.. He was the second oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 76 on May 8th, 1915 in Mountain,McDonald County,Missouri.1 General Notes

Served seven months in the Confederate Army in Captain Clanton's company
in General Greene's regiment at Pea Ridge, Arkansas.
Came to McDonald County, Missouri as a small child with his parents. Theysettled on Lower Trent Creek in 1839.
