Richard was born on February 3rd, 1267 in , Arundel, Sussex, England. Richard's father was John FitzAlan and his mother was Isabella Mortimer. His paternal grandparents were John FitzAlan Earl of Arundel and Maud (Matilda) le Botiller (Verdon) Countess of Arundel. He had three brothers and four sisters, named John II (5Th Earl) Fitz, John, Richard, Joan, Maud, Amy and Eleanor. He died at the age of 35 on March 9th, 1302.-
