William de Ferrers 
William de was born in 1066 in Ferriers,Gastinois,Normandy and his baptism took place in of Darley,Derbyshire,England. William de's father was Sir Henry de Ferrers and his mother was Dame Berta Roberts. His paternal grandfather was Walchelin de Ferrers; his maternal grandfather is Engenulph Wn. Roberts. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Robert de, Henry de, Enguenulf, Amicea de and Emmeline de. He died in of Chambrais.General Notes

One of the commanders of Duke Robert's army. King Henry's army was superior in numbers, consequently they were defeated and all of them, including Duke Robert, captured, excepting Robert de Belesme who treacherously deserted them.
All prisoners were treated with severity and many had their eyes torn out. [Falaise Roll, p. 92]
