The Directory of Royal Genealogy: "Count of Heismes and Eu, Lord of Monstreul. Some sources do not show William was the son of Richard. The Complete Peerage, Vol. V, p. 151-152" The Directory lists him among the children of Richard, but his entry does not show his mother.
