Duke of Swabia Conrad 
Duke of Swabia was born about 0920.1 Duke of Swabia's father was Count in the Wetterau Odo and his mother was Cunegundis de Vermandois. His paternal grandfather was Gebhard Von Wetterau II Duke of Lotharingia and his paternal grandmother is Oda Von Sachsen; his maternal grandparents were I Count of Vermandois Herbert and Beatrice De Morvois Princess of France. He had a brother named Count in the Kinzigau. He was the older of the two children. He died on July 20th, 0997.1 General Notes

The present picture seems to be that Kuno (which name is a short formvariant of 'Konrad') is to be identified with Konrad (b.925/30
d.20/8/997) duke of Swabia father of Hermann II. The problem is Richlind.The charter in which she is mentioned is a proven fabrication and thather mention in the GW an invention. Konrad of Swabia had a proven wife,Judith. In the last article by Hlawitschka, he presents a very clever andplausible reconstruction of Judith's ancestry. If he is correct then shewas indeed related to the emperor Otto I. According to the reconstructionJudith would be Otto's 1st cousin twice removed. On her mother's side shewould be the great granddaughter of one of Otto's paternal uncles (i.e. abrother of king Henry the Fowler). The point seems to be that the GW etcin assigning an alleged daughter of Otto as the wife of Kuno vonOehningen were indicating that Kuno's wife had blood ties with the royaldynasty ('koenigsnahe') and in this these sources were correct. What wasmistaken was the name and precise relationship to the dynasty. In anyevent if Kuno is identical with duke Konrad, he would have had somethingthat even the current Saxon dynasty did not, koenigsnahe with theCarolingians (his mother was one such).
