Nicholas was born about 1423 in Ashton u Lyne, Lancaster, England. Nicholas' father is Thomas Ashton Sir Knight and his mother was Ellen Or Helena Byron. His paternal grandfather was John Ashton Knight and his paternal grandmother is Jane Savile; his maternal grandfather was Sir John Byron Knight and his maternal grandmother is Margearet Booth. He had five brothers and two sisters, named John, Edmund, Geoffrey, Orm, Thomas, Elizabeth and Dulcia (Dowse). He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He died on March 10th, 1465.-
