James Gibbs was born on December 31st, 1855 in Salt Lake City, Slk, UT. James Gibbs' father was Joseph Reeves gray and his mother was Mary franklin. His paternal grandparents were Thomas franklin gray and Rachael Reeves; his maternal grandfather was John FEARING and his maternal grandmother is Margaret Hawks. He had four brothers and a sister, named Franklin Thomas, Joseph Edney, William Sylus, Charles Henry and Mary Rachael. He was the third oldest of the six children.
