Heinrich I Heinsberg was born about 1208 in Burgsponheim.  Heinrich I Heinsberg's father was Count Gottfried VI Of Spanheim and his mother was Adelheid Of Sayn Countess.  His paternal grandparents are Gottfried II Of Sponheim Count and () Of Veldenz; his maternal grandparents were Heinrich II Of Sayn Count and Agnes Von Saffenberg Princess. He had two brothers named Simon I and Johann I.  He was the oldest of the three children. He had a half-sister named Hildegunde.  He died in 1258.  He was buried in 1258.

‌Heinrich I Heinsberg and Agnes were married in a religious ceremony about 1230.  They had a son and a daughter, named Dietrich and Adelheid.
