Elizabeth was born in June 1799 in , Bedford, PA. Elizabeth's father was Daniel RHOADES OR RHOAD and her mother was Eve FAUST. Her paternal grandparents were Henry RHOADS and Catherina RINEHART; her maternal grandparents are John Nicholas FAUST and Catherine MATHEAS. She had two brothers and six sisters, named David, Jacob, Elizabeth, Rachel, Susannah, Sarah, Catherine and Hannah. She is the youngest of the nine children.-
