His paternal grandfather was Elger II Of Honstein Count and his paternal grandmother is Oda Of Magdeburg Burgravine; his maternal grandparents were Friedrich II Of Brehna Count and Judith Of Ziegenhain Countess. He had a sister named Hedwig. He was the younger of the two children. He died on January 24th, 1284. He was buried in 1284.-
