Aasta was born about 0978 in Gudbrandsdal, Norway.  Aasta's father is Gudbrand Kula.  Her paternal grandmother is Gudbjorg Ufeigsdatter.  She is an only child.

‌Aasta and Sigurd "Syr" Halvdanson were married in a religious ceremony about 1010 in Hadaflyke, Norway.  They had a daughter named Ingerid Sigurdsdatter.
