Joseph was born on March 23rd, 1653 in Newbury, Essex, Mass. Joseph's father was John EMERY and his mother was Mary WEBSTER. His paternal grandparents were John EMERY and Alice Grantham; his maternal grandparents were John WEBSTER and Mary SHATSWELL. He had five brothers and ten sisters, named John, Josiah, Stephen, Samuel, Josiah, Mary, Hannah, Bethia, Sarah, Abigail, Judith, Lydia, Eliza, Elizabeth and Josia. He was the second oldest of the sixteen children. He died at the age of 68 on September 22nd, 1721 in Andover, Essex, Mass..General Notes
