John VIII was born in 1305 in Blackmere, Shropshire, England. John VIII's father was Fulk le Strange and his mother was Alianore Giffard. His paternal grandfather was Robert le Strange and his paternal grandmother is Eleanor de (Whitchurch) Blancminster; his maternal grandparents were John Giffard and Maud de Clifford. He had two sisters named Katherine (Elizabeth) and Maud. He was the second oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 44 on August 30th, 1349.General Notes
