Thurston was born in 1135 in London, Middlesex, England. Thurston's father was Almeric le Despencer and his mother was Amabel Maud de Chesnei. His paternal grandfather was Thurston le Despencer; his maternal grandfather was Walder de Chesnei. He was an only child. He died at the age of 88 in 1223.General Notes
