Bertrada was born in 1059.  Bertrada's father was Simon I Le Chauve de Montfort and her mother is Agnes d'Evereux.  Her paternal grandparents were Amauri II de Montfort and Bertrade de Gometz; her maternal grandparents were Richard d'Evereux and Godeheut Borell of Barcelona. She had two brothers named Simon and Amauri III.  She was the oldest of the three children. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Amauri the Strong, William and Isabel (Elizabeth).  She died in Fontevrault.
