Adeliza de Grentmesnil

Adeliza was born about 1038 in Normandy, France.  Adeliza's father was Robert de Grentmesnil and her mother is Advise (Hawisa) de Escalfoy.  Her paternal grandfather is Gervase de Grentmesnil; her maternal grandfather was Giroie de Escalfoy and her maternal grandmother is Gisele de Montfort. She had three brothers named Hugh, Robert and Arnold.  She is the youngest of the four children.

They had two sons and four daughters, named William, Hugh, Cicely, Jane, Gunnor and Maud.
