Roger's father was Roger de Clifford and his mother was Sybilla de Ewyas. His paternal grandfather was Walter II de Clifford and his paternal grandmother is Agnes de Condet; his maternal grandparents were Robert II de Ewyas and Pernel (Petronilla) Scudamore. He had a brother named Hugh. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Robert II and Lucy. He died in 1285.General Notes
