Ermengard (Blanche) was born in 1018.  Ermengard (Blanche)'s father was Fulk III Nera the Black of Anjou and her mother was Hildegarde de Lorraine of Metz.  Her paternal grandparents were Geoffrey I Grisegonelle of Anjou and Adelais (Adelaide) de Vermandois de Chalon. She had a brother and two sisters, named Geoffrey Martel of, Adelais of and Adelaide.  She was the youngest of the four children. She had a half-sister named Adele of.  She died in Fleury-sur-Ouche, France.
