Gytha of was born in 1053 in Wessex, England.  Gytha of's father was Harold II Godweineson of England and her mother was Ealdgyth Swanneshals of Mercia.  Her paternal grandparents were Godwin of Wessex and Gytha Thorkilsdottir; her maternal grandparents were Aelfgar III of Mercia and Aelfgifu (Elgiva) of Wessex England. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Edmund of, Ulf of, Harold of, Godwine of and Gunhild of. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Maredudd ap, Ithell (Idwal) ap and Angharad (Nesta) verch.  She died after 1090.
