George Sr. was born on April 6th, 1730 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania or Wurtemburg, Germany. George Sr.'s father was Johann Georg Dieter and his mother was Maria Margaretha Luttmann. His paternal grandparents were Hans Johann Michael Dieter and Maria Catherina Frey. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Philip, Paul, Rosina and Mary Barbara.
