Genealogists disagree as to who Gile's parents were. Many list him as
child of Henry Smith and Anne Pynchon Smith (Anne was born after Giles).
He has even been listed as the son of Henry Smith (here listed as his
brother) and Frances Sanford Smith (here listed as his mother and wife of
Thomas Smith).
‌Giles and Mary were married in a religious ceremony in 1623 in Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut. They had a son and a daughter, named Samuel and Anne.
