Llewelyn ap was born in 0880 in Llandello, Carmarthenshire, Wales. Llewelyn ap's father was Merfyn ap Rhodri Mawr. His paternal grandparents were Rhodri the Great Mawr ap Merfyn of Wales and Angharad verch Meurig. He had two brothers and a sister, named Triffyn ap, Yarthyr ap and Avandreg verch. He was the oldest of the four children. He died after 0918.General Notes
