Johan Oien Johnson 
Johan Oien was born in 1865 in Grytten, More og Romsdal, Norway. Johan Oien's father was Johan Ellefson Brudeli-Oien and his mother was Gullaug Andersdatter Brudelie Oien. His maternal grandparents were Anders Andersen Kylling and Ronnaug Larsdatter Sletta. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Andrew, Ole, Karen Oien, Anna, Julia, Emma and Julia. He died before 1956 in Pekin, Nelson County, North Dakota.General Notes

According to Orel and Kermit Bjorlie in a letter dated 8-12-2002 from
Kermit: "John (J.O.) Johnson was grandma's brother that was a merchant.
He had a grocery store in Pekin. The store was first located down by the
river east of the Sheyenne Church, but was moved to Pekin after the
railroad came through- at least that's what Orel & I think. The building
still stands in Pekin, but not in use. I don't know what training J.O.
had, but he was good in math. Students would go to him for help when
having trouble with general math problems or algebra. Orel & I could not
remember Andrew Johnson- he may not have lived in the Pekin community."
