His paternal grandparents were Johannes Hausa and Mari Sjursdatter Hausa; his maternal grandparents were Jens Torbjornson Holst Ylviskaer and Margrethe Thomasdatter. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Trond Sjurson, Johannes Sjurson, Ole Sjurson, Johannes Sjurson, Mari Sjursdatter, Sislja Sjursdatter, Kari Sjursdatter, Margrethe Sjursdatter and Marta Sjursdatter. He died at the age of 73 on July 21st, 1754 in Hausa, Sogndal, Sogn og Fjordane, Norway.-
