John A. Harper 
John A. was born in March 1787 in Russell County, Virginia. John A.'s father was James Harper and his mother was Agnes Birchfield. He was an only child. He died at the age of 90 on August 28th, 1877 in Roane County, West Virginia.
John A. and Rachel were married in a religious ceremony in 1815 in Russell County, Virginia. They had a daughter named Jane Catherine Gincie.
