Barbara (Volberg) was born in December 1863. Barbara (Volberg)'s father was Albenus "Albert" Schiele and her mother was Katrina\Catharina Eberle. Her paternal grandfather was Jacob (Jakob) Schiele and her paternal grandmother is Maria Eva Deis\Theiss; her maternal grandparents are John Jacob Eberle and Maria Margeretha Armbrust. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Andrew (Andreas), Louis (Ludwig), John, Martin, Rosie and Matilda (Lena). She is the oldest of the seven children.-
