Martha Elizabeth was born on August 4th, 1824 in Jefferson Co., Indiana.1 Martha Elizabeth's father was James Jackson Underwood and her mother was Agnes Sissa Rea. Her paternal grandfather was James Underwood and her paternal grandmother is Mary Jackson. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Gideon, Silas, James Jackson,Jr., John, Margaret, Nancy Jane, Mary and Matilda. She died at the age of 92 on April 10th, 1917.1 General Notes
