Willis G. Skaggs

Willis G. was born on January 6th, 1848 in Kentucky.¹   Willis G.'s father was William Perry Skaggs and his mother is Lucinda Johnson.  His paternal grandfather was William Brock Skaggs and his paternal grandmother is Nancy Wells. He had a brother and three sisters, named Sidney L., Hester, Angelian and Elizabeth.  He was the second youngest of the five children.  He died at the age of 53 on August 27th, 1901 in Newton Co., Arkansas.  He was buried in Walnut Cemetery, Newton Co., Arkansas.^1 1 

‌Willis G. and Elizabeth were married in a religious ceremony in 1866 in Newton Co., Arkansas.¹   They had a son and a daughter, named Newton and Rosey.
