Louisa Catherine was born on December 23rd, 1869 in Green Co., Kentucky.1 Louisa Catherine's father was Henry David Skaggs and her mother was Ruth S. Salsman. Her paternal grandparents were Stephen Skaggs and Rhoda Warren. She had two brothers and five sisters, named Robert Joseph, Lewis Young, Betty Alice, Virginia Ann, Mary Alice, Rhoda Ellen and Emily Susan. She was the second youngest of the eight children.
