Isaac Thomas was born in February 1847 in Hart Co., Kentucky.1 Isaac Thomas' father was Moses Madison Skaggs and his mother was Winifred Salsman. His paternal grandfather was James Skaggs and his paternal grandmother is Nancy Mayse; his maternal grandfather was Moses Salsman and his maternal grandmother is Elizabeth Unknown. He had four brothers and three sisters, named James Moses, Moses Andrew, William Riley, Robert Compton, Priscille Jane, Sarah F. and Elizabeth. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 81 in January 1929 in DeAnn , Nevada Co., Arkansas. He was buried in White Oak Cemetery, Hempstead, Arkansas.1 1 General Notes
