James Malcolm was born on August 13th, 1827 in Cumberland Co., North Carolina.1 James Malcolm's father was Alvin Bralock Senter and his mother is Janet McNeil. His paternal grandfather was Stephen Senter and his paternal grandmother is Anna Blalock. He has two brothers and five sisters, named William Marshall, David Clark, Mary Ann, Martha Jane, Eliza Catherine, Frances Rebecca and Amanda Ellen.
