Ruby Esterly was born on January 18th, 1901 in Lodiburg, Breckenridge Co., KY.1 Ruby Esterly's father was Jesse Edward Payne and her mother was Cleona Blanche Basham. iv ersity) and got their teacher's certificates. Ruby taught at Walnut Gr
ov e, Lodibur, Kentucky and Merton taught at Jarrett School in Breckinrid
ge C ounty. Weh they married Ruby worked at a store in Irvinton and Mert
on w as the railroad aget at Ekron, Meade County, Kentucky. They later op
erat ed a store in Irvington.
