Harold Edward's father was Alfred Clarence Payne and his mother was Laura French. He has three brothers and a sister, named Roy Skillman, Vernon D., Wallace O. and Virginia French. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Forrest Henry and Wilma Agnes.
