Living's father was Thomas Virgil Nichols and her mother was Annie May Bell. Her paternal grandfather was Marcus V. Nichols and her paternal grandmother is Martha Minta Green; her maternal grandparents are John Bell and Minnie Surratt. She has a brother and three sisters, named Living, Living, Living and Living.
