[basham.ged] William Earl Murphy was born in Stearns, Ky, he left there shortly a ft er his second birthday. His father had died and his mother was alo ne wi th four small children and little education. She took the childr en to t he Louisville Children's home and left them. They were never offic ially ad opted but instead lived in Foster homes until grown. Earl lived with Charles and Susie Walker in Louisville, Ky. He on ly we nt to the 10th grade, but did learn the trade of electrician whi ch he work ed at for a number of years. He worked at R.C. Wagner during the 1940's and went to work for E.
