John Alexander was born on May 5th, 1881.1 John Alexander's father was William Jackson McFarland and his mother was Janie Adeline Campbell. His paternal grandparents were John Brown McFarland and Flora McCraney. He had a sister named Mattie. He had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named Waites, Flora, Blanche and Ruth.
