John W. was born on February 16th, 1845 in Center Township, Greene Co., Indiana.1 John W.'s father is Hardin Johnson and his mother is Elizabeth Walker. His paternal grandfather is Isham Johnson and his paternal grandmother was Sarah Warren. He had three brothers and a sister, named Hugh, Thomas, Willis and Matilda. He died at the age of 74 on September 13th, 1919 in Greene Co., Indiana. He was buried in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Richland Township, Green co., Indiana.1 1 General Notes
