Joannah Croxton was born on June 26th, 1794 in ,Amherst, Va.1 Joannah Croxton's father was Aaron Higginbotham and her mother was Nancy Croxton. Her paternal grandparents were Aaron Higginbotham and Clara Graves. She had two brothers and four sisters, named Absalom, Aaron, Elizabeth, Sarah, Nancy and Clara Graves. She was the youngest of the seven children. She died at the age of 66 on September 4th, 1860 in ,Amherst, Va. She was buried in Higginbothamcem, Amherst, Va.1 1 General Notes
