Izerlyn was born in 1856 in Bath Co., Virginia.1 Izerlyn's father is Timothy Gum and her mother was Martha Ann Underwood. Her maternal grandparents are Elijah Underwood and Betsy Wade. She had three brothers and a sister, named Michael, Albert, Elmer R. and Sarah E.. She died at the age of 64 on January 3rd, 1920 in Weston State Hospital, Weston, Lewis Co., West Virginia. She was buried in Weston State Hospital Cemetery, Weston, Lewis Co., West Virginia.1 1 General Notes

Izerlyn suffered a mental breakdown shortly after Isreal's death and s
pe nt the remainder of her days in Weston State Hospital, Weston, Lew
is Co ., West Virginia, a hospital for the insane. She died there at t
he a ge of 63, January 3, 1920. She is buried the the Weston State Hospit
al Cem etery located behind the old Weston State Hospital which clos
ed in 199 4. At the present time the State of West Virginia is trying to r
estore t he Cemeteries (there is three), however, all stones were remov
ed from t he graves in 1950 by the lawnkeeper to make it easier for h
im to mow. Ther efore there is no way to ever know who is in which grave.
