John Gosnell 
John was born in February 1846 in Greenville Co., South Carolina.1 John's father is Charles Gosnell and his mother is Cloa Judith Sams. His maternal grandfather was John Warren Sams and his maternal grandmother is Agnes Blackwell. He had eight brothers and two sisters, named Jesse, Martin, Charles, Solomon, John, Russell Rufus, Portman, Thomas Clingman, Nancy and Mary M.. He was the fifth oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 76 on February 17th, 1922 in Greenville Co., South Carolina. He was buried in Double Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.1 1 General Notes
