Her paternal grandparents were William H., Sr. Giles and Mary Jane Tracy; her maternal grandparents were Hezekiah Ford Major and Josephine Conner. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Lawrence Earl, Sr., Baby Boy, Grace Lee, Iva Lillian and Addie Ethel. She is the youngest of the six children.-
