Melissa Dezarn 
Melissa was born in Green County, Kentucky.1 Melissa's father was Elijah Dezarn and her mother was Elizabeth Shoemaker. Her paternal grandfather was Edmond Dezarn and her paternal grandmother is Mary Mandy Saltsman. She had a brother and a sister, named Thomas Skaggs and Caroline. She died in Hodgenville, Larue County, Kentucky.1 General Notes

Melissa or "Liss" died either at the beginning or end of the Civil War. S
he had no children. After her death, her husband, John Davis, married a w
idow, Alice Adams, who had been married to a Boone.
Alice had children by her first husband in Larue County. She and her fam
ily lived near Howardstown, KY. After John Davis died, his second wife, A
lice, moved out West with a son from her first
marriage. Alice and John Davis also had children.
