William James Bethune 
William James was born on November 16th, 1844.1 William James' father was Lauchlin Bethune and his mother was Ann Patterson. His maternal grandparents were Daniel Patterson and Margaret Jane Graham. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Colin, MD., Alexander A., Andrew Jackson, Maximillan D., Sarah Anne Elizabeth, Mary Jane, Margaret Saphronia, Catherine A., Harriet Newell and Caroline. He was the second youngest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 87 on September 24th, 1932.1 General Notes
