Martha Adeline was born about 1837 in Tennessee.1 Martha Adeline's father was William Basham and her mother was Sarah Unknown. Her paternal grandparents were Archibald Basham and Winna Jons. She had eight brothers and three sisters, named Reuben, Johnson, Ezekial, John (Sequatchie), William F., James, William, Dionas M. (Donald), Susan, Malinda and Rhoda.
