Margaret Basham 
Margaret was born about 1833 in Breckenridge Co., Kentucky.1 Margaret's father was James Basham and her mother was Elizabeth DAVIS. Her paternal grandparents were Obediah Basham and Celia Dowell; her maternal grandparents are Samuel Wesley Davis and Janet Cooke. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Jason, Samuel Wesley (Rev), Job D., John McElwain, William, Mary D. (Polly), Celia D., Elizabeth and Lucinda (Lucy). She died on July 8th, 1864 in Bowling Green, Warren Co., Ky.1 General Notes

Obituary In Ethlyn Crawford Correspondence
With an aching heart and trembling hand, permit me to record the dea
th a nd request of my dear and loving wife, who on the 8th day of this mon
th b id adieu to time and its concerns, leaving me with three little chil
dr en to mourn her loss. One of these has since gone, thanks be to God, w
he re parting is no more. We rejoice to know that me dear wife died in t
he fu ll triumph of faith. In her last and dying hour, she said, "Tel
l, O te ll my dear sister, I am going home to rest; tell them I pray n
ot to negle ct the one thing needful, to read the Bible and learn the w
ay to a ho me in heaven." Yes, she exhorted all her friends and brethr
en here bel ow to follow her, and calling her two little boys, one five ye
ars old, a nd the other four, to her bedside, told them where she was goin
g, and exho rted them to be good boys and love everybody, and learn the
ir books, and r ead the Bible, and at last come home to heaven; for said s
he, "I will be t here with your dear little sister that went away many da
ys and years befor e." Then she kissed them, and said "Farewell, dear chil
dren." She was t he daughter of James and Elizabeth Basham, and was bo
rn in Breckenridge Co unty, Ky; AD 1833. She made the good confession a
nd joined the Christi an Church in the early part of her life, and liv
ed a member of the chur ch at Mt Pleasant, Warren Co. Ky., until her deat
