Mahala Basham 
Mahala was born about 1827 in Virginia.1 Mahala's father was Vardiman Basham and her mother was Amy Hogan. Her paternal grandparents were Nathan Basham and Mildridge Dickerson; her maternal grandfather was James Hogan and her maternal grandmother is Unknown Wife. She had two brothers and a sister, named Charles Benjamin, Nathan and Delila. She was the youngest of the four children. She died after 1860.1 General Notes
